Relative risk does not reveal an individual patient\u2019s absolute risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Appropriate patient-facing message:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWeight-management medicines can affect blood pressure. Tell your clinician about dizziness, weakness, fainting or symptoms when standing, especially if you take blood-pressure medicines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avoid:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Claiming tirzepatide is an approved hypertension treatment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advertising blood-pressure reduction as a guaranteed benefit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suggesting patients discontinue antihypertensive medications independently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clinical action:<\/strong>&nbsp;Incorporate baseline and follow-up blood pressure, orthostatic symptoms, fluid intake, antihypertensive medications and diuretic use into Vitalia\u2019s GLP-1 monitoring protocol. Sildenafil can dangerously lower blood pressure when combined with nitrates.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/medication-health-fraud-notifications\/esbelta-intense-loss-may-be-harmful-due-hidden-ingredients\">FDA notification<\/a>\u2060<img alt=\"Attachment.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confidence: High.<\/strong>&nbsp;Based on direct FDA laboratory analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Appropriate patient-facing use:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A bilingual safety warning naming both products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remind patients to bring weight-loss supplements or photographs of their labels to appointments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Explain that products promoted as \u201cnatural\u201d can contain concealed prescription or unsafe substances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Avoid:<\/strong>&nbsp;Recommending these or comparable unverified products. Patients reporting use should be evaluated by Vitalia\u2019s clinical team; suspected adverse events can be reported to FDA MedWatch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Alcohol-related mortality increased among adults 45 and older<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CDC reported that the age-adjusted alcohol-induced death rate among Americans aged 45 or older increased from&nbsp;<strong>19.5 per 100,000 in 2014 to 25.2 in 2024<\/strong>. Oral GLP-1 headlines require careful interpretation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>An August 18 hospital article recirculated results from the ATTAIN-MAINTAIN trial, originally published on&nbsp;<strong>May 13, 2026<\/strong>. Participants previously treated with injectable tirzepatide or semaglutide maintained more of their weight loss after switching to oral orforglipron than after receiving placebo. The evidence is randomized and clinically important, but it is&nbsp;<strong>not a newly published trial this week<\/strong>.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41591-026-04386-7\">Nature Medicine trial<\/a>\u2060<img alt=\"Attachment.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Orforglipron is already FDA-approved as&nbsp;<strong>Foundayo<\/strong>&nbsp;for long-term weight reduction in qualifying adults, together with reduced-calorie nutrition and increased physical activity.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/news-events\/press-announcements\/fda-approves-first-new-molecular-entity-under-national-priority-voucher-program\">FDA approval and indication<\/a>\u2060<img alt=\"Attachment.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confidence: High for efficacy versus stopping active therapy.<\/strong>&nbsp;Limitations include one-year follow-up, no group continuing injectable treatment, sponsor involvement and use of an investigational capsule formulation in the transition trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Patient-facing use:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Appropriate: State that an FDA-approved once-daily oral GLP-1 option exists for qualifying adults.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Appropriate: Explain that obesity commonly requires ongoing management to maintain benefits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid: \u201cSwitch from injections to a pill without regaining weight.\u201d Some regain occurred, especially after tirzepatide.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid publishing a conversion schedule from injectable therapy. The study protocol should not be turned into dosing instructions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not combine Foundayo with another GLP-1 receptor agonist; its FDA labeling says concomitant use is not recommended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IV therapy, peptides and regulatory status<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No qualifying new FDA action, USPSTF recommendation or high-quality clinical evidence this week supports expanding Vitalia\u2019s claims for wellness IV cocktails, CJC-1295, ipamorelin or tesamorelin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Continue avoiding \u201cdetox,\u201d immunity enhancement, fat burning, disease prevention and anti-aging claims for IV cocktails.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CJC-1295 and ipamorelin remain unsuitable for promotional weight-loss, muscle-building or rejuvenation claims.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tesamorelin\u2019s approved use remains limited to reducing excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy\u2014not general weight management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any compounded product must be clearly distinguished from an FDA-approved medication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
